Sherry Adams Moore

Grovetown, GA – Mrs. Sherry A. Moore passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Sherry was born in North Carolina in 1947 to John & Pauline Adams. She graduated from Augusta University in 1994 and also retired from a career at Augusta University in 2014. Sherry was an active participant in the Augusta University Alumni Association. She loved and was passionate about Augusta University and would do just about anything to show support for her Jaguars. Sherry also greatly enjoyed reading and cooking and loved watching cooking shows on television and trying new recipes. Sherry loved her family deeply. She was so full of love and pride for her children and grandchildren, she would have told you that being “Nana” was the greatest joy of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband: Daryl Shipman; her two children: Karen Cannon (Brandon) of Evans and Robbie Moore (Kristen) of Martinez; five grandchildren: Leslie McNair (Will), Blake Cannon, Breanna Cannon, Addison Moore, Brooke Moore; two great grandchildren: Harper McNair and Hadley McNair; as well as two very close and special friends: Linda Burrowes and Tracy Morse. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sue Zann Adams.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the doctors and nurses at AU Health and Walton Rehab who cared for her during her last few weeks on earth. In addition, the family sincerely appreciates the nurses and staff of Crescent Hospice for making Sherry so comfortable at the end and having such compassion and caring demeanor. Heaven has gained an angel.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 12,2023 from 4:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. A memorial service will immediately follow with Rev. Chuck Gordon officiating.
