Shirley Ann was a 1959 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County High School (ARC). She and her sister Janice both graduated the same year. She retired from S&S Cafeteria after many years of faithful service. Shirley Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta and the Grace Sunday School Class where she had many friends among them were Barbara Bates, Bertie Mangham, Karen Turner, and Linnie Baynham. She was always faithful to send everyone she knew, whether relative or friend, a birthday, anniversary or sympathy card.
Shirley Ann is survived by her beloved sister: Kathy Johnson Arnold (David) of Augusta; brother-in-law: Robert N. Dixon, Sr. of Augusta; nieces: Robin Dixon Stringer (Will) of Anderson, SC. Stephanie Dixon Newton (Steve) of Acworth, GA, Lisa Arnold McCollum (CJ) of Evans and Ashley Arnold Zobrosky (Mark) of Cummings, GA; nephew: Robert N. “Bob” Dixon II (Robin) along with several great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Shirley Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William Sidney Johnson, Jr. and Juanita Jones Johnson; and her beloved sister: Janice Johnson Dixon
A funeral service will be Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church of Augusta Storey Chapel with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Dixon, Steve Newton, Wes Stringer, CJ McCollum, Mark Zobrosky, Richard Hinman and Fleming David McCollum. Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Augusta Benevolence Fund 3500 Walton Way Ext. Augusta, GA 30909.
