Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, November 2, 2011, Mrs. Shirley “Bonnie” Zettler, 56, wife of Mr. Hutch Zettler.

Mrs. Zettler was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church and the chancel choir. Mrs. Zettler graduated from Westside High School in 1973, attended Agnes Scott College, and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, before receiving her real estate and appraiser’s licenses. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Doctors Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and was very active in her church, soup kitchens, and the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Mrs. Zettler volunteered with the Augusta Players and other local community theatres for many years.

Family members in addition to her husband include her daughter, Elizabeth Zettler (Paul Czech) of Augusta; son, Ellis Zettler (fiancé, Jessica Gibbs) of Augusta; sister, Marianne Jopling of Augusta.

The family wishes to thank Susan Pyner-Pritchett and Carrie Rhodes for their caring service to our mother.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Jim McCollough officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
