Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, January 1, 2012, Mrs. Shirley Hearn Gardner, 83, wife of the late James S. Gardner, Jr.
Mrs. Gardner was a loving mother who worked hard to see that all of her family’s needs were met. She instilled Christian values and had a great sense of humor. Mrs. Gardner worked for the State of Georgia Labor Division for 26 years as a supervisor. She will be missed by all her friends and family.
Family members include a daughter; Lynette Oxford (Roger), sons: Paul Gardner, David Gardner (Sharon), Patrick Gardner, 12 grandchildren, and sisters: Adele Lueders, Billie Jean Brooks, Jackie Smith. She was preceded in death by her son: Charles W. Gardner, and granddaughter: Ellen Oxford.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to Warren Baptist Church’s Mission Program, 3202 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30907.
