AUGUSTA, GA - Entered into rest Saturday, June 6, 2015, at NHC Nursing Home, Shirley Koger Mason, 87 beloved wife of the late Alonzo L. Mason, Jr.

Mrs. Mason was a native of Augusta, GA and lived most of her life there. She was a member of The Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Mason graduated from the University of Georgia. She was a school teacher and also worked as a caterer for many Augusta weddings. She loved to play bridge with her many friends. She cherished each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family members in addition to her husband include sons: Charles L. Mason and wife Rosanne of Evans, GA, Allen S. Mason and wife Linda of Perry, GA, daughter: Brenda M. Shaffer and husband Rip of Evans, GA, grandchildren: Claire Riche and husband Ben, Lauren Moore and husband Thomas, Tara Mason, Olivia Meitner and husband Matt, Justin Mason and wife Kate, Ryan Mason and wife Jennifer, Bret Mason and wife Lauren, great-grandchildren: Caleb Meitner, Alyssa Meitner, Amelia Moore, Parker Mason, Grace Noel Riche, Jackson Mason, Jack Riche, Meredith Moore and Ansely Riche. Mrs. Mason was deeply devoted to her family and church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at The Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Fred Gunter officiating. Interment will be private. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Justin Mason, Ryan Mason, Bret Mason and, grandsons-in-law: Ben Riche, Matt Meitner and Thomas Moore.

The family will receive friends on Monday, beginning at 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the church.
