In loving memory of our mother, Shirley Legrand, who passed away on Friday July 28th, 2023. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Ernest J. (EJ) and Evelyn Pennington, her brothers Alvin and Barrett (Bubba) Pennington. Shirley was the devoted wife of Francis (Frank) L. Legrand, Jr. for 53 years, and loving mother of Francis (Lee) L. Legrand III and Tara Legrand (Bryan) Lundy. Shirley was also the most loving “Grammy” to her 2 Grandsons Justin P. Weathers, and Jason L. Legrand, and Olivia Perry her only Great Grandchild. Shirley will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. Shirley was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Shirley was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.

There will be a viewing held Monday, July 31ST from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 1ST, 2:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd. Augusta, Ga. 30907.

Mom , you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. You loved us first and we will love you the rest of our lives. It’s ok, you can rest now.
