Shonea Barrett Williams

Shonea Barrett Williams, 70, of Augusta, Georgia beloved wife of Stephen “Steve” Williams, passed away peacefully in the early morning of April 5, 2025, at her residence from natural causes. Shonea was born March 1st, 1955, in Aiken, South Carolina to the late James and Millie Barrett of Warrenville, South Carolina. A 1973 graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School, she then went on to business college and eventually retired from sales of jewelry, including the Jewelers Bench, Gordon’s, and Helzberg Diamonds.

Shonea loved vacations to Hilton Head with all the family that she could get to go with her, hosting Christmas Holidays with all her grandchildren, and later in life, taking care of her precious cocker spaniel, Brandy Joy Williams.

Shonea is preceded in death by her parents, James and Millie Barrett, brother, Phil Watts. She is survived by her husband Steve, her sisters, Gail Williams (Steve) of Leesville, South Carolina, Suzette Russel (Ricki), of Leah, Georgia, and Lisa Barlet of Williston, North Dakota. Her daughters Amanda Rodgerson (Eric) of Martinez, Ashley Wise (Vance) of Augusta, son Barrett Arrington (Jennifer) of Augusta, stepson Stephen “Joey” Williams (Blair) of Leah, Georgia, stepdaughter Sharyn Conley (John) of Hednesford England, U.K, several nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, Cody Wayne, Cameron, Chandler, Madison, and Mackenzie Rodgerson, Dameon (Bianca), Jesse, Jordan, and Alexis Wise, Kaleb and Bailey Arrington, Riley Walker, Savanna, Kayden, Jordin, Presley, and Stephen III Williams, Matthew, Annabelle, and Claire Conley, and Raven Arrington, and great-granddaughter Willow Patterson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors on Davis Rd. Augusta, Georgia. Visitation will be held one hour before services, and then burial at Westview Cemetery.
