Sidney Foster

Evans, GA- Mr. Sidney L. Foster, 93, loving husband of the late Ann Sayer Foster for 70 years went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta. Inurnment will follow in the church garden. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., at the church.

Family members include his two daughters: Susan (Carey) Tankersley of Evans, GA, and Beth (Jonathan) Morris of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren: Ann (Scott) Mason, Mollie (Shelly) Waters, Ben (Stephanie) Tankersley and Sarah (Socrates) Perez; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Parker and Myra Foster, his brother Dennis Foster and sister, Linda Foster Platt.

Mr. Foster graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1945 and Junior College of Augusta in 1949. He served in the US Navy from 1946-48.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta and was a member of the choir and Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He organized the Bartram Trail Senior Men’s Golf Association and served as it’s Chairman.

Mr. Foster was the retired president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of West Point-LaGrange and was associated with Augusta Coca-Cola Company as Assistant General Manager. He served as President of the Georgia Council of Coca-Cola Bottlers from 1986-87.
