Stephanie Dockins

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 Stephanie Dockins, 48, loving wife of John Dockins.

Stephanie was born on November 7, 1972 in Warren, Ohio. She graduated from Champion High School in 1991 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1992. She was serviced as a linguist and was honorably discharged in 1999. In 1999 she also married her husband, John. She joined the Department of Defense in 2000 and served as a linguist and analyst, working until she medically retired, due to cancer, in 2010. She had a love for painting and crafts, running and competing in numerous 5k’s, traveling, sports (especially baseball and English Premier League Soccer), her dogs, and spending time with her family and friends. She was always an active supporter and champion of her son, Alexander, who is currently a freshman at Georgia Southern University and is a member of the Southern Pride Marching Band.

Family members in addition to her husband include her son, Alexander Dockins; father, Stephen M. Grimm (Jeanette A. Grimm); twin sister, Rachel R. Scherer (David); brother, Stephen M. Grimm, Jr.; sisters, Anne M. Coleman (Kyle), Jessica Walker (John), Erin Armbasick; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Elaine Reece.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Don Prosser officiating. Interment will follow on Monday in Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.
