Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, January 1, 2021, Stephen Edward Dougherty, 69, loving husband of the late Cecile Colley Dougherty.

Steve was raised in Toronto, Ohio. He served in the United States Army. He resided in Augusta for 48 years after being stationed at Ft. Gordon upon return from Vietnam. He retired from the United States Postal Service as postal worker. He enjoyed people, yoga, Tai Chi, and meditation. Steve sponsored and mentored many through various fellowships and was a friend to Bill W. He has tremendous love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

Family members include his children: Erica Carr (Chris) and Sean Dougherty (Kim); grandchildren: Seth Dougherty, Noel Carr, Lorelai Carr, Kalie Jo Dougherty, Corin Carr, and Edison Carr; sisters: Pat Nowicki-Ross (Don) and Colleen Parrill. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cecile Colley Dougherty, his parents, Albert and Virginia Dougherty, and sister, Marsha Houser.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.
