AUGUSTA, Ga. - Susan Bell Bohler, 64, wife of the late Rufus Estes Bohler, Jr, entered into rest at her home on December 19, 2015. The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son at 214 Davis Road. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23 at 11:00 AM at Westover Memorial Park with The Reverend Robert D. Fain officiating.

Survivors include her three children: Kelly Bohler Bridges and husband Henry (Hank) Benton Bridges, Jr. of Augusta, Davis McCall Bohler of Augusta, and Susan (Susie) Bohler Cates and husband John Douglass Cates V of Atlanta. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Joseph Louis Stevenson, Mildred McCall Stevenson, Fisher Davis Stevenson, William Bohler (Bo) Cates, Jamie Michele Bridges, and Allie Morgan Bridges, and by her lifelong friend and “sister”, Fonda Ghann Patterson. In addition to her family, she leaves behind her two adored pets, Addie and Helen.

Susan was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kelly Bell. She was born on January 29, 1951 in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1969, attended Agnes Scott College, and graduated from Augusta College. Susan was the president of Bell Investment Company. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where she volunteered at the Parsonage, and the Augusta Country Club, the Augusta Symphony Guild, English Ivy Garden Club, River Gate Garden Club, Junior League of Augusta, and Women in Philanthropy of the CSRA. She was a supporter of Historic Augusta, CSRA Humane Society, and Easter Seals. She enjoyed her family, her good friends and their families, traveling, reading, Starbucks coffee, barbecue, NYC, and the New York Times. Susan had an ever-inquiring mind and was a lifelong learner. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bo Bovard, Doug Cates, Barney Dunstan, Will Long, Richard Patterson, and Mike Shelton.
