Mrs. Pitchford, a native of Savannah, GA, spent most of her life in Augusta. She graduated from Butler High School in 1971 and was an avid Georgia Tech fan. Susan was passionate about family, sports, and politics. She retired from sales at J.B. White department store. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Family members include sons: Jeremy Pitchford (Zara) of Sydney, Australia, Kevin Pitchford of Augusta, GA, Brandon Pitchford of Denver, CO; brothers: Frank Whitfield (Janice) of Augusta, GA, Tim Whitfield (Meg) of Augusta, GA; sister: Anne Whitfield of Augusta, GA.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Healy officiating.
