Augusta, GA – Entered into rest at his home Sunday, December 17, 2017, Mr. Theodore Gill, 86, loving husband of 64 years to Kitty Sue Gill.

Mr. Gill was a 24 year veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam retiring as Master Sargent. After military retirement, he was employed as store manager at Sky City department stores in Augusta and Clearwater until transitioning to manager of St. Joseph Hospital laundry. He was a pitcher on the Army All-Star fast-pitch softball team. “Poppa” was a pitching coach to his granddaughters and biggest fan of all his Grandchildren’s activities. Mr. Gill was a West Virginia Mountaineers football fan and an avid fisherman.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Sharon Wallace (David), Rhonda Newman (Clyde), and Sandra Burgess (Howard); grandchildren: Kristin Bourdo (Phillip), Paige Wallace, Kariss Winfrey (Blake), Kileigh Jones (Michael), Gerald Stacks, Jr., and Jeffrey Stacks (Julie); 10 great grandchildren: sisters: Libby Price (Frank) and Juanita Smith; brother: Clarence Gill; beloved caregiver: Mary Foston; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son: Theodore Walton Gill, III; parents: Walton and Rebecca Gill; and sister: Virginia Thompson.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Martinez Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip A. Winsett officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
