Martinez, GA – Mr. Theodore "Ted" P. Klein, 83, went to his heavenly home Sunday morning, August 11, 2024.
Ted was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. After serving in the Army, Ted worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring as Postmaster of the North Augusta, SC office. In his spare time, he enjoyed his family and helping others in various ways. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for many years and thoroughly enjoyed singing with the Prime Time Singers as they entertained seniors in the Augusta area.
Ted was a man of many talents: a wonderful cook, a gifted storyteller and a trivia expert. He loved playing games, working puzzles, solving crosswords and anything else that would challenge his mind. Even though he loved winning, he was a gracious loser on the rare occasions someone outsmarted him. He was a big Gamecocks fan. However, you could catch him pulling for the Bulldogs if they weren’t playing South Carolina.
Ted has left an enduring legacy of faithfulness, perseverance, generosity and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Klein; his son, Ted Klein Jr. (and his spouse, Alison Klein); his daughter, Deborah Farthing (and her spouse, Bill Farthing); his stepson, Troy Ward (and his spouse Lori Ward); his grandchildren, Aaron Farthing (and his spouse, Bekah Farthing) and Carlie Henderson (and her spouse, Caleb Henderson); as well as his great-granddaughter, Ruth Farthing. Additional surviving family members include his sister, Grace Pauloski, and brother, Bob Klein.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Deborah Farthing officiating. The service may be viewed via livestream at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/index.php?data=MTcyMzc0NzgzMDMyMzg2MCZvbmVyb29tLWFkbWluJmNvcHlfbGluaw==
