Theresa Ann See Williams (83), Augusta, GA -- beloved wife of Andy L. Williams, entered into rest on Monday, August 16, 2021.

Theresa, daughter of James and Mae Belle Cross, was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, on June 15, 1938. She spent her summers with her brothers Mike and Jimmy on the farm, riding on the tobacco truck and running barefoot through the fields. She attended college in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina.

As a young woman and army spouse, she traveled on a troop ship to meet her husband in Vicenza, Italy, where she had her first child, Mary. In Fort Huachuca, Arizona, she gave birth to her second child, Jay. Once stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia, she had her third child, Karen.

Small in size but not in bravery, she traveled the world with her children. Upon settling in Augusta, Theresa managed the bookkeeping department at Baird & Co.

Andy and Theresa fell in love on the dance floor. They were married in Augusta, Georgia, on February 18, 1983, and were happily wed for 38 years. During that time, the pair reached platinum status on Carnival Cruise Line. On every ship, Theresa could be found reading on her balcony.

Theresa was an active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, and Warren Baptist Church, where she and Andy volunteered for Operation Christmas Child. These two congregations have provided lifelong support, camaraderie, and laughter.

Theresa loved music. She danced, sang, and hummed her way through life. Though she hated practicing piano as a child, she was grateful in the long run. She enjoyed tending to the birds and flowers in her garden. She fiercely loved the Lord, her family, ice cream, and winning at cards.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2367 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30904 or Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907.
