Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at University Hospital, Mr. Thomas Henry “Bonny” Ford, Jr., 81 husband of the late Mrs. Edith Baines Ford.

Mr. Ford was a native of Augusta, GA and grew up in Frog Hollow. He attended Bible Deliverance Temple. Mr. Ford graduated from the Academy of Richmond County where he was a 3 star athlete. After high school, he attended Newberry College where he played football and was signed by the Washington Senators to play minor league baseball. Mr. Ford retired from International Paper where he worked as an electrician. He was a huge University of Georgia football fan and enjoyed family vacations to the beach.

Family members include son: Thomas Henry Ford, III (Tammy) of Suwanee, GA; daughter: Elizabeth Ford Marmol (Paul) of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren: Austin Love, Alec Love and Nicholas Ford; brother: Tony Van Horn (Debbie); sister: Drea May (Lamar) of Augusta; multiple nieces and nephews; and special companion: Patt Murray LaChance. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry Ford, Sr. and Lillie Hill Van Horn; and step-father: Charles A. Van Horn.

A memorial service will be Sunday, April 23, 2017, 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Kelly McKnight officiating.

The family wishes to thank Lake Crossing Health Care Center for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to your favorite charitable organization.
