Thomas Seals Martin

Appling, GA – Thomas Seals Martin, 79, loving husband of Judy Mills Martin entered into rest on Sunday, August 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. 

Tommy was a native of Columbia County and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He loved horses, and enjoyed trail riding. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He and his wife also liked to go camping in their free time. 

After graduating from Evans High School, Tommy joined the Marines and served one tour in Vietnam. After his service in the Marines, he began his career with United Parcel Service and retired as a manager after 25 years. He loved his country, home, family, and the bulldogs. Tommy was also a member of the CSRA Shag Club and enjoyed dancing as well as the friendships. 

Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Gina Martin, Jack Peel, and Chad Martin (Amy); grandchildren: Elizabeth Martin, Vanessa Martin, Thomas Martin (Brittany) and Samuel Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas S. Martin, Sr. and Hattie Johnson Martin; and siblings: Barbara Tankersly, Ruel Martin and Betty Sizemore. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating.
