Evans, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 5, 2011, Mr. Thomas “Tom” Campbell, 81, husband of 61 years to Joy S. Campbell.

Mr. Campbell was a member of Warren Baptist Church and former member of Abilene Baptist Church. He lived in Merritt Island, Florida where he was a member of First Baptist Church and was employed at Kennedy Space Center. Mr. Campbell served in the US Navy on the USS Philippine Sea Aircraft Carrier during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid horseman, a wood worker, a Christ follower, and considered by his family the blueprint of a Godly man.


Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Dr. Kathryn Hilliker (Scott) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Lynn Brantley of Augusta, GA, Tracy Dozier (Brian) of Blythe, GA, grandchildren: Chris Hilliker, Josh Hilliker and Amy Woodward of Tuscaloosa, AL, Tommy Brantley of Augusta and Wendy Brantley of Dayton, OH, 8 great-grandchildren, sister: Patricia Bryan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Abilene Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Harrell officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Muns Bible Study Class.

Memorial contributions may be made to Abilene Baptist Church, 3917 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30907 or to Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
