Timmy Pittman

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Mr. Timothy Chance “Timmy” Pittman, 61 

Timmy was a native and lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He was a graduate of Westside High School and attended Augusta College. Timmy was a project manager in the construction business. He was an NRA level one shotgun instructor, as well as a 4-H Scholastic Shooting Sports and Georgia High School Certified Coach. He was one of the biggest supporters and instrumental in starting youth shotgun shooting in Augusta. Timmy loved coaching and mentoring kids. He coached kids from all over the CSRA including Episcopal Day School, Aquinas High School, Westminster Schools, Community Christian Academy, 4-H and SCTP Pinetucky Pullets. He was the absolute best skeet coach in the area. 

Timmy coached his daughter, Sydney, to be a National and World Champion Skeet Shooter. He has coached numerous kids to develop into competitive high school and college shooters, some of which were State and National Champions. Timmy would follow “his” kids to any match or tournament in the Southeast. He would meet them any place, anytime to help them work out a kink or to prepare for a match. His dedication to the sport and the shooters was unparalleled. Timmy wasn’t just a coach; he was a best friend to anyone and everyone in the shotgun shooting community. His quick wit, endless nickname abilities, and tremendous laugh are going to be missed. The Aquinas High School shotgun family loves you and is going to miss you!

Family members include his daughter: Sydney Ann Pittman; son: Wesley Lawton Pittman; former wife: Dana Gruye Pittman; brother: Jay Pittman (LaRue); and mother: Dianne Mauldin Pittman. He is predeceased by his father: Larry Pittman and his brother: Todd Pittman.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home – don’t bring your shotgun!
