Mrs. Tina B. Wicker
Augusta, GA – Tina B. Wicker, 96, loving wife of 74 years to LTC (Ret) James E. Wicker, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Tina was born in Aliey, Georgia, but grew up in Macon. She and Ed moved to Augusta in 1966 to settle into their new life after Ed's retirement from the Air Force. Tina became active in her church, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, Nursery, Women's Food Ministry, and her beloved Mary Martha Circle Group. Tina was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very witty and fun loving. She taught by example as a strong Christian woman, who had a servant's heart for all.
In addition to her husband, family members include her son: James E. “Ed” Wicker, Jr. (Marie); daughter: Janice E. Esposito (Tony); grandchildren: Deanna E. Wilson (Steven), Brenner W. McNair (Paul), David W. Wicker; great-grandchildren: Evan, Liam, Hannah Wilson, and Addi, Mobley, Caroline, Henry McNair. She is preceded in death by her grandson: Anthony Esposito; sisters: Elizabeth B. Chaffin (Theo) and Runell Benton; brothers: P.H. Benton (Dot) and Jack Benton.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Wicker, David Wicker, Paul McNair, Steve Wilson, Tony Esposito, Tommy Jones, Ken Chaffin, and Ted Chaffin.
Family and friends are invited to Aldersgate UMC fellowship hall following the service for a reception and to visit with family.
