Harlem, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his residence, Tommie Townsend, 61, beloved husband of Dianne K. Townsend.
Mr. Townsend served in the US Army in Vietnam, a member of the Baptist faith, and retired from GA Regional in 2000.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Susan Godowns and husband Bill of Louisville, GA; son: Chris Townsend and wife Dee of Martinez, GA; sister: Denise Willard and husband Tommy of Martinez, GA; mother: Joyce Sconyers Burns of Martinez, GA; grandchildren: Cole, Anna, and Nicholas Godowns, Ryan and Bo Townsend.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. J.D. Turner officiating. Internment will be at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans #1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
