Martinez, GA – Vickie Darlene Cox, 66, entered into rest late on Mother’s Day; Sunday May 9th, 2021.

Vickie Darlene Cox was born in Augusta, Georgia on August 7th, 1954. Her Family Members incudes her Daughter: April Murphy (Mike); Son: Dean Cox (Carla); Sister: Venessa Cooper; Nephew: Roy Hitzeman II; Grandchildren: Ashton Cox, Ireland Murphy, and Layla Cox. She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Swearingen.

Vickie Cox was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and beloved Friend. She was a devoted Wife of 43 years, along with her Husband Dean as they raised their 2 children in Augusta, Georgia and later moved to Roswell, GA. In Augusta, she worked as Secretary to the Dean of Augusta College. Vickie was a valued employee and friend to all who knew her. In 1996 the Family moved to Roswell where she was the ultimate Homemaker. She will be remembered by her Family & Friends as a stunning and graceful red head with a love for entertaining, laughter, fellowship, and Lilly Pulitzer. Her passion for life was fueled by her Children and three Grandchildren whom she adored dearly.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Pallbearers will be Ashton Cox, Dean Cox I, Dean Cox II, Roy Hitzeman II, Mike Murphy II and Tommy Richards. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
