Augusta, GA – Virginia “Honey” Hollingsworth Fleming Ivey entered into rest on Monday, January 4, 2016 with her husband of 48 years, O. Torbitt (Toby) Ivey, Jr., by her side.

Honey was born in Tifton, GA to the late Dr. and Mrs. Carlton Alonzo Fleming. She graduated from Tifton High School and attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority.

She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Board at University Hospital. She was a former member of the Westlake Country Club, Augusta Country Club, and the Pinnacle Club of Augusta.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Mr. and Mrs. George William Humphreys, Jr. (George and Barbara), Mr. and Mrs. Brent A. Smith (Brent and Elizabeth), and Mr. and Mrs. Graham Ray (Graham and Ashley),
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Holloway (Jimmy and Martha), her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton A. Fleming (Brother and Helene). She was blessed with five beautiful and much loved grandchildren; Katie Humphreys, George Humphreys, III, Adams Smith, Hadley Smith, and Madeline Ray.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield and Rev. Thurman Norville officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will Edwin Douglass, Bill Kuhlke, Dessie Kuhlke, Terry Johnson, Duane Grice, Gene Neal, Wink Jenkins, Clyde Lester, Eddie Booth and Ronnie Bowers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Gathering Area at Trinity on the Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Family Services, c/o St. James UMC, 439 Greene St., Augusta, GA 30901.
