Augusta, GA – Virginia Lee Shields wife of the late Col. Homer E. Shields, died Monday, December 7, 2009. She was 93.
Mrs. Shields was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and had lived in Augusta, GA for the past 45 years. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Volunteered at the Community Clothing Center and was a past officer of the Fort Gordon Officers Wives Club. She is survived by her sons; Timothy Lee Shields of Augusta and Joseph Edward Shields of Vass, NC; eight grandchildren and two grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons; Timothy Lee Shields, wife Cleo; Joseph E Shields, wife Ann; six granddaughters; Kate Shields, Sarah Shields, Tiffany Evans, Paige Shields McLemore, Debra Ellis and Angel Avery; three great grandchildren; Madison Evans, Lawson Evans andTimothy Blake McLemore.
Preceded in death by her Grand daughter Elizabeth “Lee” Shields.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 14, 2009 at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. John Pinson officiating.
Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3185 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909
