Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 24, 2011, Mrs. Virginia Murphy, 82, wife of the late Leonard Murphy.
Mrs. Murphy was a native of Collins, GA. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and collected porcelain dolls. Mrs. Murphy’s mission in life was to rear two daughters, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Family members include daughters: Cheryl M. Watkins (Wilson) of Evans, Brenda Murphy of Augusta; grandchildren: Brent Watkins (Elizabeth), Lane Watkins; and great grandchild Colby Brent Watkins.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Trinity Hospital and Westwood Extended Care Facility.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Brian LaFavor officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Wilson M. Watkins, Brent Watkins, Michael Rosier, Gary Heffner, Michael Garrett, and Steve Garrett.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Ave, Augusta, GA 30904, or Riverview United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1244 Furys Ferry Road, Evans, GA 30809.
