Augusta, GA – Surrounded by her family, Mrs. Vivian Bowman, 88, went to be with her Lord Sunday, November 5, 2017, loving wife of 64 years to the late Jesse Bowman, Sr.
Mrs. Bowman was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She retired from the Graniteville Co. and later worked for the Columbia County School System. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Family members include her son: Jesse “Doil” Bowman, Jr. (Debra); daughter: Linda J. Carbone (John); granddaughters: Melissa Canfield (Shawn), Alicia Medlin (Eric), Kim Speering (Russell), Amy Genova (Salvatore); great-grandchildren: Maddison, Riley, Chase, Jessica, Sarah, and Katy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her great-grandson: Bryce Canfield.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Cancer Center at the AU Children’s Medical Center, 1446 Harper Street, Augusta, GA 30912.
