Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, March 3, 2011, W.G. Marlowe, 76, husband of Mrs. Elizabeth “Liz” Marlowe.
Mr. Marlowe was a native of Wilkesboro, NC and resided in the Evans and Grovetown area for the past 40 years. He attended Westminster Presbyterian. Mr. Marlowe was a retired commercial construction estimator. He was active in the Easter Seals Program. In the past Mr. Marlowe was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
Family members include in addition to his wife, sons, Stephen A. Marlowe, (Janet) of Evans, Mark A. Marlowe (Shannon) of Evans, GA, brothers, Jerry Marlowe of Wilksboro, NC, sister, Olene Phillips of Wilksboro, NC, grandchildren, Mallory Marlowe, Aaron Marlowe and Seth, Marlowe. He was preceded in death by, parents, Walter G. and Dot Robinson Marlowe, brother, Mickey Marlowe.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Duncan Rankin and Rev. Larry Gilpen officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Roger Gray, Steve Wheatley, Avis Billue, Chester Brown, Aaron Marlowe and Wayne Hawkins.
Memorial contributions may be made to, Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, PO Box 70744, Albany, GA 31708 in care of President Rio Landa.
The family will receive friends, Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
