Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, September 1, 2011, Mr. Wade Dabney, 64, loving husband of Louise M. Swan.

Mr. Dabney graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, Magna Cum Laude and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. His career included serving as music minister and church pastor in Golden Colorado. Mr. Dabney also worked in the computer industry with IBM and Hitachi Data Systems, until he moved to Georgia.

Mr. Dabney loved golf – watching it, playing it, and teaching others. He attended golf school and became a USGA Golf Instructor. He was a member of Reynolds Plantation Golf Club at Lake Oconee where he and Louise enjoyed many happy rounds with family and friends.

Family members in addition to his wife include: daughters, Karin Campbell (Michael) of Bloomington, IN, Kristin Mundkur (Suchin) of Sterling, VA, five grandchildren, one brother, Aleck Dabney (Wanda) of Surprise, AZ and stepmother, Janet Dabney. He is predeceased by his father, Dr. Connie Alexander Dabney who was the pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Augusta for many years and his mother, Mildred Shealy Dabney.

The family would like to thank the GHSU Cancer Center, Theresa Coleman MD and the staff at the Augusta Hills Nursing Center for the outstanding care they provided.

The family will receive friends at 5:00 P.M. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Dr. Bob Campbell of Houston, TX officiating.
