Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Walter Sisson, 85, husband of Betty Sisson.

Walter was born in Elijay, Georgia. He served 22 years in the United States Army and through the years remained passionate about his military service. Walter was a member of Evans Church of Christ. A friendly, outgoing person, he never met a stranger, he could and would start a conversation and talk to anyone. Walter was also known to help anyone whenever he could. Walter was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Family members in addition to his wife Betty, include his son: Tony Sisson (Kim); daughters: Veronica Cowan (Sean) and Sunny Hutto; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest Duckett and Lillye Mae Sisson.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with John Mabrey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
