Walter C. Wren, Jr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, February 26, 2017, Mr. Walter C. Wren, Jr., 80, loving husband of 58 years to Rebecca Tucker Wren.

Mr. Wren was a native of Glascock County, Georgia, but lived in Martinez most of his life. He was a 1954 graduate of Warren County High School where he played his favorite sport, football. He retired after 38 years from Eastern Airlines and SATO Travel at Fort Gordon. Mr. Wren was a member of Martinez Baptist Church. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. One of his passions was watching his grandchildren play in various sporting events.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Rosemary Wren, Elaine Sheppard (Billy), Lori Cope (Chris); grandchildren: Tyler Sheppard, Grayson Sheppard, Avery Sheppard, Nathan Cope; sisters: Klonnie Lewis, Bernice Jackson, Catherine Wren, and Mildred Raley.

Mr. Wren was predeceased by his parents: Walter C. and Florrie Hadden Wren and brothers: Euell Wren and Allen Wren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Tyler Sheppard, Grayson Sheppard, Nathan Cope, Billy Sheppard, Chris Cope, and Randy Tucker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martinez Baptist Church, 3632 Lynnwood Drive, Martinez, GA 30907, or the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Casey, SC 29033.
