Martinez, GA - Wanda Darlene Cooper, age 67, passed away in her home in Martinez, Georgia on January 3, 2020.

At her request, no service will be held.

Darlene was born on September 15, 1952. She is preceded in death by her brother William Earl Cooper, her mother, Barbara Cooper, and her father, John Cooper.

She is survived by her brother John Cooper, Jr., her sister, Debra Cooper, her nieces, Dana Cason, and Nikki May; her nephew, Dagan Sharpe; her great nephews, Wyatt Cason, Wheeler Cason, Walker Cason, Caden Sharpe, and Cooper Howard; and her great nieces, Riley Howard and Kaylee Sharpe.

Darlene, known to many as “Dar”, was a warm and caring person who spent many of her working years as an entrepreneur, care taker and beautician. She was a native of Augusta, Ga, where she graduated from Glenn Hills high school.

A lover of the countryside, animals and riding horses, Darlene never met a stranger. In her youth, she was strong, fiercely independent, and adventurous. As an adult, she traveled the world while working on a cruise ship, owned a beauty salon, lived awhile in Florida, but eventually returned to her hometown of Augusta.

Darlene will be best be remembered for her love for her family, her various pet dogs over the years, and for others. Although she struggled with physical ailments later in life, she was deeply loved by all who knew who best.
