Augusta, GA – Warren Herbert Bainton and Audrey May Wickett Bainton died at their home in Augusta, Georgia six days apart. They had recently celebrated their 76th anniversary on July 13.
Warren and Audrey were college sweethearts. They met while Warren was at Naval Officer Candidates School at Yale University. They married in 1946. Warren worked for most of his career at Warner's, the lady’s foundation company. Eventually he became the Regional Manager of the Southeast Division which stretched from Virginia to Texas. He was a gifted "people person" which made him both a gifted salesman and a mentor for younger men.
Audrey became a talented interior decorator and worked for private companies, as well as Ethan Allen in Atlanta. She had a lifelong love for American History which she conveyed to her children by taking them to historical sites. They visited numerous historic sites including Colonial Williamsburg and Washington D.C.
Warren became an avid boater as an ex-naval man. He took the family on a boat trip down the Tennessee River.
Warren remained a lifelong athlete and played senior softball into his 80's and Audrey remained his most enthusiastic supporter.
Warren and Audrey took an active interest in their children and grandchildren. They are survived by their son, Rev. Gary Bainton; their daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Charles Bearden; ten grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
