Augusta, GA – Wayne Stanford Parsons passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Wayne, 91, was the beloved husband of Carol Parsons for 65 years and a devoted father and grandfather.
Wayne served in WWII with the 591st Army Air Forces Base Unit and also as a member of a search and rescue squadron in Yukon, Canada.
A native of Portland, Oregon, he was a graduate from the School of Forestry at Oregon State University, where he met his wife Carol. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
At home in Augusta for 46 years he worked for Louisiana Pacific Corporation and retired as Eastern Redwood Division Sales Manager. He was Mason for over 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughters: Linda Stewart and Jean Mallory, his son James Parsons; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families on the West coast. He was preceded in death by his son David Parsons.
Graveside services will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
