Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, January 25, 2014, Mr. Wayne Sidney King, 67, loving husband of Mary Li Ping King.
Mr. King was a native of California but has resided in Augusta since 1990. He served in the United States Navy and then became a Startup Engineer, where he retired from Bechtel after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
Family members in addition to his wife include son: Anthony Wayne King; daughters: Rebecca King Flanagan (John), Sally Ann King, Katherine Ann King; brother: Craig King; and a host of other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Helen King, and a brother, Michael King.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Phillip Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Barbour, Alexander Drennan, John Flanagan, Anthony King, Scott Pardew, and Dana “Buddha” Voss.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association at 2050 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
