Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, March 18, 2014, Weldon E. “Gene” Morris, 75, beloved husband of Kaye Morris.
Mr. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He was a member of Pine View Baptist Church and a faithful volunteer at Broad Street Ministry Center. Mr. Morris was a man of few words who doted over all of his grandsons.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Dana Whitaker (Kent) and Krystal Vogtner (Zack); son: Wade Griffin (Roxana); grandsons: Tucker Whitaker, Tyson Whitaker, Austin Griffin, Josh Griffin and Wilson Vogtner; and brother: Herbert Morris. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents: Weldon and Pearl Morris and sister: Louise Perry.
A memorial service will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pine View Men’s Sunday School Class, Hubert Conrad, Lee Gunn, Tommy Carter and Broad Street Ministry Center volunteers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Broad Street Ministry Center at 20 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
