Wesley Williams

Appling, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, July 23, 2021, Mr. Wesley “W.D.” David Williams, 71, loving husband of nearly 52 years to Kathy Williams.

W.D. was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area and was a member of West Acres Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard and retired from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. He had an excellent sense of humor and mentored many. W.D. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: David Williams (JessiAnn) and Renae Vickers (Charles); grandchildren: Hunter, Mason, Collin, Cooper, Nick (Lauren), Bella, Tori, Kyra, Jarrett, Jainey, Jacen, and Jenna; brothers: John Williams (Debra), Stephen Williams (Shonea), and Tommy Williams (JoAnn); mother-in-law: Joyce Greenway; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Williams.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Interment will be private. Pallbearers will be current and former Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
