Martinez, GA – Weston Robert Hammond (Wes), 23, a son given by the Lord to Scott and Debbie Hammond entered into rest on Monday, June 21, 2010. He enjoyed a wonderful Father’s Day with his son and family as well as a round of golf with friends. He is now at home with the Savior he loved.

Survivors include his parents, his son, Zayne Steele Hammond, his brother, Clay Hammond. Additional survivors include his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Brenda Pickard of Martinez, paternal grandmother, Peggy Hammond of Thomson and the late Bobby Hammond. Aunts and uncles include Bethany and Danny Greer of Evans, Lee and Angela Hammond of Thomson, Daryl and Susan Pickard of Thomson, Karen and Paul Pinkston of Amarillo, TX.

Wes was a 2005 graduate of Lakeside High School, attended Augusta State University and was a student at Augusta Technical College. He enjoyed restoring old trucks and helping many of his friends work on their vehicles. Wes was a member of Warren Baptist Church and was a member of Raysville Boat Club in Thomson, GA.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 24, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Don Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. Pallbearers will be Michael Greer, Ben Adkins, Matt Dyches, Jordan Lamb, Tyler Garrison and Cannon Dunn. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Neal, Andrew Neal, Connor Mahoney, H.B. Chavous, Travis Hodges, Cole Smith and Will Hammond.
