Will Lena Johnson

Entered into rest on Sunday, January 19, 2025, Mrs. Will Lena Johnson, 90, wife of Mr. David Johnson.

Lena was born in Lincolnton, Georgia and lived in the Augusta area all her life. She was a devoted member of West Acres Baptist Church. Lena was an excellent seamstress but worked as a tax preparer, realtor and also worked for Augusta Christian Schools. Lena was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Family members, in addition to her husband, include her daughters: Cindye Johnson Dempsey, Sandra Johnson Blitchington and husband Billy, Sharon Johnson Wilder and husband Russell, Susan Johnson Bennett and husband David; grandchildren: Galen Mercer, Katie Mercer (Megan), Lena Blitchington, Sarah Murray (Michael) and Madison Bennett; great grandchildren: Cypress Mercer and Wilder Murray; sisters: Barbara Andrews and husband Eddie Lee, Bonnie Logan and husband Greg. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mattie Cox; sister: Mildred Mogannam and son-in-law: Al Dempsey.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Zack J. Claxton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
