William "Bill" Roch Polonus

Evans, GA - William "Bill" Roch Polonus passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in his home. He was a loving father, devoted grandfather, and cherished friend to many. 

Born in Johnstown, PA September 29,1954 to Harold and Margaret Polonus. He was the youngest of 9 children. Bill lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness. Known for his warm smile and unwavering generosity. Bill and his late brother, John, started Augusta Disposal in 1991. The first to bring curbside recycling to the Augusta area. 

In his free time Bill enjoyed his dogs, Rocco and Murphy. He loved “spa day” with his dearest friend Geraldine. He loved going to his land and exploring at “Polonerosa and “was an unofficial member of VFW Post 12190.” 

He will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren, Andrew Polonus(Amanda), Kelly Hill (Matthew, Sadie and Hayes), and Alex Polonus (Lauren, Delaney, and Everly), extended family and many friends.

He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. 

Bill may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
