William “Bill” Warlick
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Friday, March 31, 2017, William M. “Bill” Warlick, 78, loving husband of 57 years to Margie Warlick.
Mr. Warlick was born in Atlanta but lived in the Augusta area most of his life. He was a 1955 graduate of Harlem High. He began his career in the construction supply business with Howard Lumber Company. He then moved to Augusta Sash and Door Co. in 1961 and in 1975 became the co-owner. He served as director and a trustee for the Construction Suppliers Association. He was a founding member of Holy Cross Presbyterian Church. He was known as “Pa” to five grandchildren and was active in the community through activities such as coaching football, and baseball for the Columbia County Recreation department and was on the Board of Directors for Martinez Evans Little League. Mr. Warlick was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and trout fishing as well as square dancing with the “Flutterwheels” and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.
Family members in addition to his wife include, daughter: Vicki Beatty (Jim) of Martinez; son: Andy Warlick (Jo) of Jefferson, GA; grandchildren: Trey Beatty, Taylor Beatty, Austin Beatty, Andrew Warlick, Mary Anna Warlick; and brother: James L. Warlick (Liz).
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
