Augusta, GA – Entered into rest, Monday, April 15, 2013, Mr. William D. “Bill” Stanford, 54.
Bill was born in Florida but lived most of his life in Augusta. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the choir. Bill was an avid sports fan and loved to laugh. He was a happy person who never spoke ill of others. Although he was ill most of his life, he never complained about the hand he was dealt. His family is comforted in knowing that because of his strong faith he is now at peace.
Family members include mother: Betty Cooper Stanford; father: the late Charles Dane Stanford; sister: Lisa Stanford Gee (John); nephew: Adam Gee. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Grover and Annie Cooper and paternal grandparents: Charlie and Millie Stanford. The family would like to thank his devoted caregiver Robbie Jackson.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at New Heights Baptist Church Rev. Lloyd Green officiating. Burial will be private. Following the service and lunch at the church, friends may visit at the home of his sister Lisa Gee
