Evans, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, April 9, 2017, Mr. William Fredrick Schleicher, Jr., 87, loving husband to Elizabeth Schleicher and son to the late W. Fred and Marguerite Schleicher.

Mr. Schleicher grew up in Miami Beach, FL, attended Miami Beach schools and graduated from Florida State Fire College in Ocala, FL. He worked for 25 years as a Driver-Engineer for the Miami, FL Fire Department and 15 years as a volunteer Captain in the Fannin County Fire Department in Blue Ridge, GA. During his years in Miami he also was a builder specializing in building apartment buildings. He was an avid water skier, hunter, gun collector, and raised and trained fox hounds. He loved to travel and for 13 years he assisted in touring high school students through Europe as well as traveling with his family throughout the United States. He was an active member of Lebanon Baptist Church for 30 years. Mr. Schleicher married his loving wife, Elizabeth Mizrahi, in 1950.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his daughters: Linda DeCandido, Donna Martin (Stan), Dottie Johnson (David); grandchildren: Britt Martin Trulock (Ross), W. Preston Martin (Sarah), Brandon DeCandido, Abby Woodard (Kris), and Bert Johnson; great-grandson: William Hix Trulock; and great-granddaughters: Kennedy Elizabeth Trulock and Everett Kennedy Woodard.

The family would like to thank the staff in the Arbor at Brandon Wilde for their professional care.
