William Houston "Bill" McLaughlin

Mr. William Houston “Bill” McLaughlin, went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2024. 

Bill was born October 1, 1951, at University Hospital in Augusta. He attended schools in Augusta, England (UK), Delaware and prior to moving to Holland, Netherlands, where he attended and graduated from American International School of The Hague. He attended Wesley College earning an Associate of Arts. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church and the Hooker/ Van Horne/ Friesen Life Group. He retired after 28 years with Centara at SRS in Aiken, South Carolina. He volunteered with Columbia County Fire and Rescue for 13 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: William Francis and Ruthie Houston McLaughlin. He is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Ruth McLaughlin; daughter: Melissa Anne McLaughlin Tittle (Patrick), stepdaughter: Jennifer Wells; brothers: Victor Shaw Skalak (Christy) and Myer Shaw Skalak (Trish); Cousins: Virginia Claussen Bush (Don), George Fredrick Claussen (Karen). 

The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM in The Chapel at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
