William H. Gooding, Jr.
Augusta, GA – , Mr. William Henry “Bill” Gooding, Jr., 57, loving husband to Nancy Harlan Gooding, entered into rest Thursday, March 5, 2015 at University Hospital after a brief illness.
Bill was born in Camden, NJ but spent most of his life in Augusta. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Georgia and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He worked at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. Bill’s happiest times were spent hunting and enjoying his cabin in Twiggs County and coaching in the Martinez-Evans Little League for 19 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Benjamin Rogers Gooding (Jess), Matthew William Gooding; and sisters: Gilda Gooding Curry (Nate) and Elizabeth Gooding. He is preceded in death by his father: William Henry Gooding, Sr.; mother: Frances Rogers Gooding; stepmother: Betty Smith Gooding; and his favorite uncle: Lewis Benjamin “Sam” Gooding.
A funeral service will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in Wesley United Methodist Church with Dr. Greg Porterfield officiating. Burial will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Stanley Family Cemetery in Dublin, GA.
