William L. Hildreth

Evans, GA - William (Bill) Lawrence Hildreth, age 84, of Evans, GA passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, with his loving wife Zee by his side.

Bill was born on December 5, 1938, in Aliceville, AL to Lawrence Austin Hildreth and Fannie Bess Carson Hildreth. He graduated from Aliceville High School where he was on the football team. After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and upon discharge pursued his A&P license for aviation maintenance from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. Bill retired from Delta Airlines with most of his 30-year career working in Birmingham, AL. After retirement he worked another ten years in the Consumer Products Division of Procter & Gamble.

In addition to his wife Zee Wilkes Hildreth, he is survived by children Jeffery Lee Hildreth (Beth), Shannon D. White (Randy Dykhuis), Craig Lawrence Hildreth (Corinne Novella), and granddaughters Alyssa and Liliana. He was also Papa Bill to BriEvan and Hudson. He is survived by one sister, Frances Hildreth Jones, special family Gina Harris and Cathy Burke, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Alton, Bernice, Jack, Herman, Bess, and Dean.

Bill was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church where he enjoyed working on church projects. Bill will be remembered for his generosity in giving his time and expertise to friends and neighbors and his love of sports.
