William "Bill" McKettrick

Augusta, GA – William “Bill” Thomas McKettrick of Augusta entered into rest Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born March 13, 1936 in Grovetown, Georgia to Margaret Teasley and Woodrow Wilson McKettrick.

Mr. McKettrick was a resident of Augusta and a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County where he lettered in varsity football. After high school, Bill worked for the Savannah River Site as a laboratory technician while serving in the Navy Reserves. Following military service, he enrolled at Augusta College where he received his Bachelor of Science and MBA. After graduation, Bill worked within the MCG School of Medicine, advancing his knowledge on health practice. His work with the college laid the foundation for his company, McKettrick Health Services.

Bill loved traveling with his wife of 35 years, the late Cynthia Baker McKettrick. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and enjoyed countless golf trips with “the boys”. He loved hosting family and friends and was known for his generous nature. A true example of hard work and determination, Mr. McKettrick’s knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit had vast impacts on his family and community. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Bill is predeceased by his parents, late wife, and son Bryan McKettrick. He is survived by his sister Emily Harper; son, Mark McKettrick (Patty); daughter-in-law, Terri McKettrick; Cynthia’s children, Jeanine Harper (Skip) and Drew Fuqua; their eight grandchildren, Anna Barton (Brandon), Sarah Williams (Adam), Kelly Gambrell (Van), Elizabeth Harper, Claire Moore (Bradley), Will McKettrick (Kimmy), Maggie McKettrick, and Ben McKettrick; and his great-grandchildren, Harper, Jordan, Lilly, and Slade.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Tuesday, June 7th at 2PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son and will be officiated by Mr. Garn Capps. The family will receive guests at 1PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Augusta.
