Augusta, GA – Entered into rest unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Mr. William L. Messex II, 52, beloved husband of 32 years to Andrea Messex.
Lee was born in Augusta, Ga on March 22, 1972. He served his country in the US Army for 12 years. Lee was actively working as Captain in security with Southern Nuclear at Plant Vogtle. Lee loved his family & the Lord more than anything. He found pleasure spending much of his time outdoors with his family. He also enjoyed camping, boating on the lake, hunting, traveling and the Georgia Bulldogs. Lee was also very involved in his church, Harvest Pointe Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife: Andrea; two children: Mikel and his wife Ciara and Nikki; mother: Connie J Barsh; mother-in-law: Margaret Schmidthaus; brothers: Rudy Messex (Pam), Patrick Barsh (Becky), Perry Barsh; sister: Candy Messex; sisters-in-law: Sandra Messex Formby, Gudrun Scholz (Raphael) & many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father: Rufus Messex Sr.; stepfather: Eddie Barsh; brother: Walter Messex and sister: Wanda Inglett.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Chris Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.
