Pat Smith, 62, of Douglas, GA. passed away peacefully on the evening of January 25, 2010. He had recently moved to Fairhope, Al to be near his daughters and grandson. For many years, he has been a faithful servant of God imbuing all he met with God's Love, God's Word, and God's Humor. He was and is our Good Ole Daddy.

Pat is the son of the late Lester Vernon and Maxine Relihan Smith of Augusta, GA. He is the loving father of Mary Barrett Kendall-Smith of Fairhope, and Sarah Daniel Smith of Ft. Worth, TX; and loving grandfather of James Kendall of Fairhope.

Pat was a 1965 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County where he was a National Merit Scholar. While attending Georgia Tech he suffered a near fatal auto accident. After a long recovery he graduated from Augusta College and was a long time employee of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Douglas, GA.

Other family members include brother: Randolph Relihan Smith, M.D.(Becky) of Augusta; nieces: Katherine Cross Smith of New York, Rebecca Elizabeth Smith of Augusta; nephews: Randolph Relihan Smith, Jr. (Monica) of Atlanta, Michael Daniel Smith of Clemson, SC; grandnephews: Randolph Relihan Smith III and Daniel Cheatham Smith of Atlanta; grandniece: Maxine Irene Smith

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
