“Mr. B.”
Evans, GA – Entered into rest Monday, October 1, 2012, Mr. William Scott Bauerle, 89, husband of the late Mrs. Lorraine Bauerle.
Mr. B was born in southeastern Detroit. He attended Southeastern High School in Detroit from 1939 to 1941. He then started his college education at the University of Michigan. During this time Mr. B met a remarkable young lady, Lorraine Peterson, who became his high school sweetheart! On Valentine’s Day in 1941, Mr. B and Lorraine married. Mr. B served in the U.S. Army Air Corps., during WWII. Mr. B and Lorraine operated a summer camp in northern Michigan from 1960 to 1979. Mr. B and Lorraine retired and moved to Augusta in February 1994. He was an avid golfer who looked forward to the Masters each year. Mr. B was a volunteer at the Family Y, working with special-needs and physically impaired children. Always giving of himself, Mr. B was a devoted family man to his wife and children.
Family members include sons: Kim Bauerle of Glenwood, Washington; Peter Bauerle of Troy, MI and Jeff Bauerle of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter: Alice Bauerle of Peaks Island, Maine; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son. Interment will follow at a later date in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, Troy Michigan.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA 30909.
