William “Will” Sherrill IV
Augusta, GA – William Serlie Sherrill IV, beloved son of William Serlie Sherrill III and Denise Anderson Sherrill, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on January 31, 2013. Will was born July 25, 1990.
Will was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men’s Group. He was a former member of MYF and Love Unlimited Choir for four years. He served on a mission work day just last Saturday.
Will was a 2009 graduate of Augusta Preparatory Day School where he was a member of the basketball and golf teams. He was Captain of the golf team during his senior year. Will was co-founder of the Augusta Prep Young Republicans. He was a Red Cross High School Hero. Will attended the University of Alabama, Augusta State University and worked with his dad at Norvell Fixture and Equipment Co., Inc. He was recently accepted into Architectural School and planned to move to Atlanta to complete his education. He was a loving, thoughtful son, full of life and a joy.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his grandparents: Bill and Betty Sherrill; aunts: Lisa Futrelle (Jeff), Lela Sherrill, Louise Garren (Joe), Diane Anderson Schlein and Debbie Anderson Jones; and by many cousins, extended family as well as life long friends. Will was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph McRoy and Deona Anderson.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy McVeigh, Dr. Mike Cash and Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Walker Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church at 1330 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.
